Martin K. Schwan is a practicing Industrial Hygienist conducting hazmat surveys, exposure studies, and IAQ and Mold assessments throughout the State of Alaska. Martin is a member of the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) and serves on their Conference Technical Committee as Chairman as well as the Alaska liaison. He has been actively involved in the annual conference meetings since 2013.
Martin is also an experienced chemist, and worked as a research chemist for 3M and Scientific Materials. A past twelve-year employee of the Municipality of Anchorage, he carried out duties as a certified plans examiner in the Building Department, and served as a Fire Inspector, Fire Investigator, and Fire Marshall with the Anchorage Fire Department.
Mr. Schwan is former president, and current board member of the local chapter of the International Code Committee (ICC). He is also currently on the ASTMD37 Cannabis committee. He continues to be involved in the development of building and fire codes for the state of Alaska.
